San Rafael Elementary School Reading (Wed. Jan. 14th)!

Hi again!

Following Gillian's San Rafael Library reading and Q&A she was asked to meet the Principal of the San Rafael Elementary School.  The kids responded so well to Sparky's story that Principal Alyson Beecher asked her to come back to read for a few different grade levels on Wednesday, January 14th!  Very good news!!!

Gillian Invited to be on the Greater Los Angeles Writers Society Advisory Board!

Gillian has been asked by the Greater Los Angeles Writers Society President, Tony Todaro to be a full member of the GLAWS Advisory Board.  Also, to Chair the monthly Book Appearances at different retail stores.  The Advisory Board consists of members and Industry professionals who wish to make a positive contribution by offering constructive advice and feedback in areas of society's operations.  The Advisory Board meets separately each month from the general meeting to discuss business, new issues and make recommendations to the Executive Board.   The Advisory Board also is the Nominating Committee for the Executive Board.

Gillian Joining forces with The Wonder of Reading!

Great New Cause for Sparky the Wonderfish: A story of how love creates magic!

During the Grand Opening of the Euclid Avenue Elementary School Dec. 5th Gillian was asked by THE WONDER OF READING's Program Coordinator, Eliza Karagezian to join with them in their efforts to inspire in children the love of reading!  Their mission is to have a significant impact on reading in Southern California elementary schools.  Of course Gillian said YES!

Beginning in early 2009 Gillian will participate with as many of the schools as she possibly can and is honored to do so!

The Wonder of Reading furthers it's purpose through the 3R Program (Renovate, Restock and Read).  The Wonder of Reading has successfully renovated 200 libraries, overseen the purchase of more than $2,000,000 worth of new books and trained nearly 5,000 volunteers to read to kids on a weekly basis.  The Wonder of Reading focuses on Los Angeles's most disadvantaged children.  The 3R Program not only benifits today's students: it puts in place resources that teachers and students can count on for years.

Sparky Reading & Signing at Private Residence!

Hi-

This new and exciting news for Sparky the Wonderfish!  Gillian has been booked to read and sign Sparky for 10 women and their kids at a private residence on December 14th at 1:00PM in Studio City, Los Angeles.  The ladies will be enjoying coffee and cake and Gillian will read Sparky the Wonderfish to their children, give out stickers and gifts and everyone will color Sparky coloring pages!

This is great fun!  If you would like to book Gillian for a private party, she would LOVE it!!!  Gillian can bring as many books as you'd like as well as gifts and clothing of all kinds...  Check out this link to see what your choices are!
