Washington Accelerated Elementary Reading & Signing (Thurs April 30th)



Gillian is been booked to Read and Sign Sparky the Wonderfish: A story of how love creates magic at the Washington Accelerated Elementary School in Pasadena, CA. Grades Pre-K through 5th Grade on Thursday, April 30th, 2009.  She will read to almost the entire student body.  Although most of Washington Accelerated Elementary School's over 800 students come from low income families, their true wealth lies in their outgoing personalities and their motivation to succeed.  Washington students are supported by an outstanding faculty and dedicated staff.

Reading, Signing, Q & A - Hillsides Elementary School! (Wed. Feb. 25th)

Gillian has been asked to Read and Sign and have a Coloring Session at the Hillsides School February 25th.  The Hillsides School is a school for Foster Care & Special Education for Abused Children.  Founded 95 years ago, Hillsides mission is to create a safe place for children, strengthen families, provide special education and advocate children's rights.  Hillsides works with many social and child services organizations, including LA County, Pasadena, Glendale, and San Gabriel Valley school districts.

2 Readings at The Center For A New Generation (Tues. Feb. 17th)



Gillian has scheduled a Reading, Q & A and Coloring session for the Center For A New Generation with a focus on literacy.  It is a foundation started by Condoleezza Rice in 1991. It's purpose is to increase literacy for children grades one to eight.  It is based in Menlo Park, California.  In 1996 CNG merged with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula.  It is an innovative after-school academic enrichment program.  The goal is to increase the high school graduation rate by helping young students prepare for high school and college.  The program focuses on Math and Language Arts.  Electives such as Art and Music are offered to help students express their imagination and creativity.

Reading & Signing at The Laureate School San Luis Obispo,CA (Thurs, Feb. 13th)!


Gillian has multiple events booked at the Laureate School in San Luis Obispo, California.
She will be Reading, Signing, Coloring, as well as Q & A's.  The Laureate school is a private school with a 5 star rating.  Their mission is to educate students to become stewards, leaders and citizens of the 21st century's global world through project based learning, coursework in the arts, technology and foreign language and a school-wide character program.

San Rafael Elementary School Reading (Wed. Jan. 14th)!


Hi again!
Following Gillian's San Rafael Library reading and Q&A she was asked to meet the Principal of the San Rafael Elementary School.  The kids responded so well to Sparky's story that Principal Alyson Beecher asked her to come back to read for a few different grade levels on Wednesday, January 14th!  Very good news!!!

Gillian Invited to be on the Greater Los Angeles Writers Society Advisory Board!


Gillian has been asked by the Greater Los Angeles Writers Society President, Tony Todaro to be a full member of the GLAWS Advisory Board.  Also, to Chair the monthly Book Appearances at different retail stores.  The Advisory Board consists of members and Industry professionals who wish to make a positive contribution by offering constructive advice and feedback in areas of society's operations.  The Advisory Board meets separately each month from the general meeting to discuss business, new issues and make recommendations to the Executive Board.   The Advisory Board also is the Nominating Committee for the Executive Board.
